Sustainability
The SIAD Group, as part of its goals to support renewables and actively participate in reducing environmental impact, and A2A, through its subsidiary A2A Energia, have signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
The agreement calls for SIAD to purchase the renewable energy produced by a photovoltaic installation built by A2A. The new installation will be able to generate 15,000 MWh of green energy per year, equal to the consumption of about 5,500 households, and will avoid the emission of about 7,000 tons of CO2eq/year. Thanks to this green energy, SIAD's industrial gas production will be even more environmentally friendly. Indeed, the initiative is part of the international chemical group's overall sustainability approach, conducted through the constant improvement of its production processes and the increasing use of renewable energy sources. The SIAD Group, thanks to its highly diversified technological expertise, supports decarbonization through technologies for the efficient recovery and reuse of CO2 and the energy transition with innovations and expertise in the hydrogen supply chain. It promotes a sustainable business culture and continues to develop products and services for its customers that improve environmental performance.
For A2A, this initiative represents an opportunity to create value together with its partners, providing medium to long-term offers and solutions capable of concretely supporting companies on the path to decarbonization. The new photovoltaic plant, thanks to the production of renewable energy, will also make it possible to contribute further to the energy transition, one of the pillars of the Group's Industrial Plan, which aims to foster the country's sustainable development.
